| Description: | A night of fun and exciting musical contrasts …. “Lyrical”, “Jazz” and “African rhythms” The concert begins with some popular tunes such as the Londonderry Air and Home Sweet Home; the mood is then “jazzed- up” with the fantastic “Little Jazz Mass” by Bob Chilcott, accompanied by Julia Kennard [piano] and finally, together with the choirs from St Hugh of Lincoln Primary and Pirbright Primary Schools, it is time to be transported into Africa to experience the colourful and effervescent “African rhythms” of “Zimbe!” [Swahili for “Sing them”] accompanied by the composer Alexander L'Estrange and the “Call Me Al” quintet. |
