| Description: | James Lancelot has held the post of Master of the Choristers and Cathedral Organist of Durham Cathedral since 1985. He started his musical career as a chorister of St Paul’s Cathedral, and was subsequently educated at Ardingly College and King’s College, Cambridge, where he was Organ Scholar. Prior to his move to Durham he spent ten years as Sub-Organist of Winchester Cathedral. James is much in demand as a recitalist in Britain and abroad. Recent years have seen visits to Holland, Belgium, Poland, Germany, Denmark, the USA, France, Russia, Norway and Sweden, as well as many British venues. His exciting and varied programme will include music by Bach, Mendelssohn, Messiaen and Mathias. |
