| Description: | Billingshurst Choral Society with the Sinfonia of Arun, Soloists: Catherine King and Adrian Powter and Musical Director George James, will be performing; Karl Jenkins’ “Stabat Mater” and Mack Wilberg’s “Requiem”. This is a “Trans-Atlantic” concert of two composers. We welcome back an “old” friend, Karl Jenkins, and we are giving you a unique opportunity to hear a new [to the UK] and pioneering work by Mack Wilberg. Wilberg’s evocative orchestration, using mostly strings, complements and dovetails amazingly with the choir to create a meditative, “angelic-like” peace and calm. |
