| Description: | Directed by Nigel Short Taking its title from Tenebrae's CD of the same name, and described as "English Choral Gold" by Classic FM Magazine, this programme has a theme of love and death, but it is far from depressing. Beautiful settings of English poems by composers such as Vaughan Williams, Holst and Richard Rodney Bennett, in addition to partsongs such as The Turtle Dove and The Long Day Closes sit alongside music by composers Hubert Parry and Paul Mealor, whose music was heard at the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton to great acclaim. Tenebrae have just released Paul Mealor’s beautiful music on Decca Records, and make a welcome return to Mayfield. |
