||St Mary in the Castle, Hastings
||Following their huge success with Handel's 'Messiah', which packed Christ Church in November, Hastings Philharmonic Choir returns to St. Mary-in-the-Castle on Saturday March 17th with a delightful programme of works, beginning with Haydn's magnificent 'Te Deum'. This will be followed by Mozart's ever-popular Symphony no. 36, known as the 'Linz', played by accomplished musicians led by Clare Thompson from the Philharmonia Orchestra. Fittingly in this Jubilee year Mozart's triumphant 'Coronation' Mass makes up the second half of the concert, when the choir and orchestra will be joined by four prize-winning soloists. This concert of music ideally suited to the wonderful acoustic of St. Mary-in-the-Castle will be directed as usual by the choir's charismatic conductor, Hilary Davan Wetton.
||Tickets cost £15 and £10, with £2-off for adult concessions. Children 16 and under just £3. Online ticket sales: www.hastingsphilchoir.org.uk. Box Office: 01424 552119 or visit the Hastings Old Town Museum & Information Centre OR the St. Mary-in-the-Castle box office.
