|Description:||The Community Band of the Sir Robert Woodard Academy is very pleased to present a charity evening concert at St Michael’s at 7:30pm on Saturday 13th July 2013 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
This adult concert band was founded 10 years ago as the Boundstone Community Band and in recent years has gone from strength to strength playing in concerts and at outdoor events throughout Shoreham, Lancing and Worthing. Most of their performances raise money for local charities and they are regular guests at many varied venues including Worthing Fire Station, Shoreham Festival and Fontwell race course. A highlight of recent events was a spectacular massed band event at Worthing Pavilion Theatre in January.
The July concert at St. Michael’s will include a great range of items from the band’s general repertoire and the summer playlist will include popular favourites from genres spanning swing, jazz, blues and rock ‘n roll to film music, tv themes and songs from the shows. With favourites such as In the Mood, Watermelon Man, Caravan, St Louis Blues and Mack the Knife, medleys of music including songs from Abba, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Survivor, Joe cocker and Bon Jovi plus hits from Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar and more – there should be something to suit all tastes!
Tickets will be priced at £4 with £3 concessions with proceeds in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support with an additional collection in aid of St. Michael’s fundraising.
