Title: Rhythmie Wong's ‘Dancing Fires and Fragrances’ Interview Concert
Promoted by: Worthing Symphony Society
Time: Sunday, 18 November 2018, at 4:00pm
Place: St Paul's Worthing, Worthing
Description: The next in this successful series of innovative and inclusive international concerts in which the audience, through the interviews, encounters the personality of the artiste and learns more about the music being played. There is unmistakeable connectivity and inter-action – immensely more than in a conventional recital. This one is for solo piano.

Features include unreserved seating In the Round (doors open at 3.30), Mystery Music Spot, Ask A Question, cafe-bar refreshments, and secret surprises, not just musical.

Rhythmie Wong is from Hong Kong and was a finalist at the 2018 Sussex International Piano Competition in Worthing and this concert is part of her prize. The frisson she created in the Competition continues going into this appearance, just with one look at her imaginative and richly atmospheric programme.

She will perform music from two Spanish piano music masterpieces (Albeniz’ Iberia Book 1 and Granados’ The Maiden and The Nightingale from Goyescas), two big transcriptions of great orchestral pieces (Ravel’s La Valse and music from Stravinsky’s The Firebird ballet), and Haydn’s final and probably most masterly Piano Sonata (No 52 in Eb) in which we will experience Rhythmie’s innate flair of this composer, including his humour.
