Title: Stamford Piano Quartet
Promoted by: Haywards Heath Music Society
Time: Saturday, 8 April 2006, at 7:45pm
Place: St Wilfrid’s Church, Haywards Heath
Description: The Stamford Piano Quartet is an ensemble of professional solo musicians whose paths unexpectedly crossed in Singapore in 1996. It seemed appropriate to adopt the middle name of Raffles, the founder of Singapore, as their own when thay began to play together. They are all active musicians as soloists, lecturers, conductors, teachers and examiners and meet as regularly as their busy schedules permit. Their repertoire contains all the classical and romantic works for piano quartet and they particularly specialise in contemporary music, some of which has been composed for them.

Richard and Margaret attended the Royal Academy of Music, and Elizabeth and Sally the Royal College, where they were both winners of the Hurlstone Prize. It is therefore fitting that in this, his centenary year, they will be playing his Piano Quartet, as well as works by Mozart and Fauré.
Tickets: Adults: £9 (members £6)
Seniors: £8 (members £5)
